Karen Marcia (Brown) Nicolls

It is with the saddest of hearts that we have to announce the passing of our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend, Karen Marcia (Brown) Nicolls.  She passed away at the age of 71 after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, February 16, 2020.  Karen was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Marcella Brown.  Left to mourn are her husband of 55 years, Frank Nicolls; her son Corey Nicolls and grandson Jared Nicolls; her daughter Crystal Cire (Larry), grandson Tyler Cire, and granddaughter Jordan Cire; her sister Darlene Frith (Don) and their boys Dean (Tammy), Doug (Rhonda), and Dallas (Tanya); her sister Myrna Krupinski (Myron), their sons Shane (Jade) and Derek (Tanya), and daughter Rachelle (Brent); her brother Kenton Brown (Beverly) and their daughters Carrie Dodds (Ryan) and Jamie Munawych (Kirk); her brother Lance Brown (Kathy), their daughter Jessica McClure (Matthew) and son Eric (Teri); twenty-two grand-nieces and grand-nephews; as well as countless friends.

There are no words to express our thanks to Dr. duToit and the staff at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre that helped us through this most difficult of times, and cared for Karen with dignity, respect, and empathy.  Thank you.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Ponoka and District Health Foundation (Palliative Care).
