It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Frederick Kent announce his passing on February 13, 2020, at the age of 71. Joseph was born on May 15, 1948, in Barrow-In-Furness, England. He immigrated to Canada in 2000 with his wife and daughters. Along with his family, Joseph built a successful beekeeping business, Coal Lake Honey Farm. He spent many days tending to the bees and sharing his passion for beekeeping at local farmer’s markets.
Joseph had a strong connection with the land and loved to be outdoors, whether with his bees or hunting with his dogs. Throughout his life, Joseph was an advocate for the land and respected everything the earth had to offer. He believed in living life to its fullest. He took every opportunity he could to go camping or exploring with his family. Joseph never turned down a challenge and was fearless. He thrived on a good adrenaline rush, never passing up an opportunity to zip-line, even at the age of 70.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Christine; children, Marc (Jade), Emma and Stella; granddaughter, Bo; siblings, Patricia and Terry; as well as nieces, nephews, and his beloved dogs, Zack and Boy.
