John Kulba Obituary

In Loving Memory of

John (Tom) Thomas Kulba

June 27, 1951 - July 7, 2026

John (Tom) Thomas Kulba was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, on June 27, 1951. Born into humble beginnings, Tom left home at the young age of 14 and began building a life through determination, resilience, and an unwavering work ethic.

John passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at his home in Millet, Alberta, surrounded by the comfort of the life he built through love, loyalty, and dedication to his family and friends. John was predeceased by his beloved son, John Kenneth Kulba, his mother, Olga Syrnyk, and his father, John Kulba.

Throughout his life, Tom worked as a logger, helped move houses, laboured on farms, and spent most of his career working on the oil rigs. His work took him across Canada and overseas, where he earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. More than his work, Tom will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a fiercely loyal friend. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. No matter the hour—day or night—if someone needed him, Tom was there. His generosity, dependability, and quiet strength touched the lives of many.

Tom leaves behind his beloved wife, Rose Kulba; his loving daughter, Crystal Kulba-Chaney, and son-in-law, Derek Chaney; and his cherished grandchildren, Karson and Jade Kulba-Chaney. Being a grandfather was one of Tom's greatest joys in life. Karson and Jade were the light of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than being their Grandpa. The love he had for them was unconditional, and the memories they shared will remain in their hearts forever. Tom leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, loyalty, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered. May he rest in peace.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Lions Hall in Millet, Alberta.
