Jeffrey Arthur Reitsma, 62, of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, had a dignified and peaceful passage at his home on October 28th, 2025, after a most courageous yet swift battle with cancer. Family was at his side as he took his last breath.
Born in Barrhead on October 22, 1963, Jeff was the beloved son, brother, devoted husband, father, endearing grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. The impact he had goes beyond measure.
Jeff will be fondly remembered for his well-rounded sense of humour, quick wit, strong work ethic, remarkable attitude, tender caregiving, and his profound love for his family — to name just a few of his defining characteristics.
He leaves this world deeply loved and will be forever missed by his wife, Nadene; his mother, Helen; his children, Justene (KC) Lorentz, Joel, Madison, and Emily; and his cherished grandchildren, Oaklynn, Kensington, and Jozie Lorentz. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Brenda DeRuiter, Carolyn Spoor, Marie (Tony) Callaghan, and Lyn (Randy) Hintz; and his brother-in-law Wes McBride.
He follows in passing his father, Arthur Reitsma; in-laws, Bert and Vivian Weaver; sister, Arlene McBride; and brother-in-law, Case DeRuiter.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 8th, at Malmo Mission Covenant Church.
If desired, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Malmo Church.
“Hoping to see you on the other side.” – Jeff
