Irene Lydia (Webster) McClaflin

Irene Lydia (Webster) McClaflin was born on December 25, 1930 to Finley and Lydia Webster at Homeglen, Alberta.

Irene married her soul mate Lawrence in 1949 and resided in the Dakota community west of Ponoka and raised seven children.

Irene was known for her beautiful flowers and yard.  When she wasn’t tending to her flowers, she was busy driving her children to and from their many sports.

In 1988, they moved into Ponoka where once again she had many people driving by and admiring her yard year round.

Irene worked at Rimoka Lodge for 22 years where she enjoyed cooking and visiting with the residents.

Irene enjoyed travelling the world with her family.  She would never turn down an invitation to go somewhere.

Irene was loved and adored by all that knew her.

Irene passed away in Wetaskiwin on January 16, 2023 at the age of 92.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family: son Wade (Kristiene), grandson Cam (Angela) and great-grandsons Cooper, Jared, and Parker, grandson Dan (Tricia) and great-grandchildren Lilya and Adam, and grandson Nathan (Odessa); son Gerald (Susan); son Clayton (Diane) and grandchildren Bryan (Amanda) and Charisse (Adam); son Miles (Kim) and grandchildren Colton and Destyn; daughter Roxanne and grandchildren Elanta and Caleb (Candice); son Lorne (Shirley), grandson Zachary, granddaughter Brandi-Lynn (Richard) and great-grandchildren Blake and Natalie, and granddaughter Katelyn; daughter Twilla, granddaughter Tristen and great-grandson Asher, and grandson Brenten and great-grandson Aiden; her brother Melvin (Alice) Webster; her sister Phyllis Shewchuk; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence and grandsons Kirk and Lucas.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Church of the Open Bible on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (live-stream link located below).  A lunch and fellowship will follow the church service with the Interment following at the Dakota Cemetery.
