Holdi Reich

Gotthold (Holdi) Reich was born in Poland in 1928.  He was deeply impacted by World War II and its aftermath, and as a result emigrated to Canada with his family.  He married Irmgard in 1952 and they moved to the farm in Bashaw in 1953.  There they raised four children.  Holdi also has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild arriving in January.

Holdi loved farming and the land.  He bred an excellent lineage of purebred Angus and Charolais cattle.  He was interested in politics.  He and Irmgard enjoyed travelling to other countries.  He loved basking in the Arizona sun where they spent many winters.  Holdi loved fishing, and playing chess and checkers with his friends, and in later years he enjoyed playing tennis.

Holdi passed away on October 17, 2021 at the age of 93 years.  He is survived by his wife Irmgard; his children: Doris and her children: Dan (Wanda), Rowan, and Camden; Marita (Derek), and Marley; his daughter Margaret predeceased him in 1958; Rita (Pierre) and her children: Denton, Brennan, and Erika (Colt); and Harold (Dorothy) and family.

Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a private Funeral Service is being held.
