Hilde (Schmidt) Feldberg

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilde (Schmidt) Feldberg.

Hilde was born in Klöstitz, Bessarabian, Romania to Rudolf and Luise Schmidt. She met the love of her life, Willi, in Germany and they married on February 16, 1962. Together they moved from Germany to Canada where they had their two sons in Ponoka. Hilde was the happiest when gardening, knitting, baking, playing cards, and spending time with those she loved most.

Hilde leaves behind her sons Rolf and Bernd (Carla); her grandchildren Brittney (Jordan & great-grandson Jonah), Jessica (Nathan), Justin, Shayla, Jordan, and Ceanna; sister-in-law Heidi Schimdt; niece Hilda (Alfred) Raugust; as well as other family members throughout Canada and Germany.

Hilde was predeceased by her parents Rudolf and Luise Schmidt; parents-in-law Eduard and Sopia Feldberg; brother Helmut Schmidt; husband Willi Feldberg; and daughter-in-law Kari Feldberg.

A Service to Celebrate Hilde’s life is planned for Friday, September 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home.  The service will be livestream broadcast - the video viewer is located below.

Hilde truly enjoyed her time at the Rimoka Housing Foundation. She was always busy with an activity or visiting with friends. If you would like to honour Hilde’s memory, you can make a donation to the Rimoka Housing Foundation.
