Henry Visser of Ponoka, beloved husband of his wife Grace for 48 years, was welcomed into the arms of his heavenly Father on October 31, 2025, at the age of 73.
Also mourning his loss are his daughter Shelly (Lee); and sons Darryl (Amanda), Trevor (Carrie), and Mark (Gerlinde). He will also be missed by his grandchildren Cody and Ethan, Micah, Josiah, Moriah, and Jayla, Carter and Payton, Amelia and Vivian; and 1 great-grandchild Emerson.
He was predeceased by his parents, his step-mother, a brother, a sister and a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, as well as his father-in-law and sister-in-law.
Henry was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 30, 1952. He met the love of his life in 1974 and they were married in 1977. Henry lived his life with a servant heart – helping any in need. In retirement, he happily worked as a janitor of his church, a job he loved doing, and was always willing to go above and beyond. Despite his health struggles, he always said there was someone worse off than him. He lived life knowing that his only comfort in life and in death was that he belonged to his faithful Saviour Jesus Christ.
The family Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Forest Home Cemetery in Ponoka. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Redeemer United Reformed Church (4519 46 Ave Lacombe, AB).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
