It with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gerry on September 7, 2023, at the Good Shepard Lutheran Home at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christine; son, Troy (Holly); daughters, Robyn (Christopher Gukert), Kristen (Richard Bowie); grandchildren, Tantyn, Nashton, Grayson Monea; Zayden and Quorra Gukert; Ivor and Spencer Bowie; sisters, Donna (Duane) Nelson of High River, Edwina (Jeff) Segboar of Wetaskiwin; brothers, Boyd (Roxie) Monea of Wetaskiwin, Myles (Rose) Monea of Red Deer, Clifford Monea of Cochrane; brothers-in-law, Terry Murphy, Lorne(Colleen) Armstrong, Ed(Belinda) McArthur, Kirk (Rachel) Langmuir, mother-in-law Anita Langmuir of Calgary; three sisters-in-law and their families; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Gerry was predeceased by his younger sister, Cheryl; parents, Gus & Beryl Monea; father-in-law, Tom Langmuir; favourite uncle, Bill Monea; and second father, Ross Ashmore.
A Celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at the farm (454058 Range Road 272; W on HWY 13 to RR 272 and S – 4km. OR W on HWY 611, N – 5km) on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and a lunch will follow. In memory of Gerry, donations may be made to the Glenrose Hospital Foundation, Good Shepard Lutheran Home or the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
