George Serkasevich

George Serkasevich was born on May 14, 1935 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and entered into rest on June 8, 2026 in Ponoka at the age of 91 years young.

George is survived by Margo, his wife, best friend, and soul mate for 67 years; daughters Paula, Lisa (Dan) Hatala, Nola (Nathan) Stevens, and Gina (Bernie) Calkins; grandchildren John Owen, Terry (Pam) Owen, Dustin Hatala, Cody (Alex) Hatala, Cailynn Hatala, Nick (Jessica) Welsh, Ben Welsh, Justus (Liliana) Calkins, and Caden Calkins; and 12 great-grandchildren: Daylan Owen, Rylan Owen, Kaylie Owen, Arianna Owen, Trace Owen, Avery Hatala, Nova Hatala, Blake Hatala, Mason Hatala, Layla Welsh, Koa Calkins and Kanon Calkins; as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Liana Joy in 2019; parents John and Nadia Serkasevich; and his sister Lydia Beifus.

Thank you to all of our friends, especially during George’s last years, who have stood by us.

A Funeral Mass for George will be celebrated on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ponoka.
