Genny Charlene (Bloomfield) Bratko

In Loving Memory of Genny Charlene Bratko 
June 21, 1974 – December 19, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Genny Bratko, loving wife, mother, nana, sister and friend. Genny passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2025, after a courageous journey with cancer. She was 51 years old.

Genny was born on June 21, 1974, in Trail, British Columbia, and moved to Wetaskiwin at the age of nine, where she would build a life filled with love, faith, creativity, and deep connections.  She had a passion for cooking and was deeply artistic and creative, expressing herself through many forms. Genny loved to travel, treasured houseboating trips with her best friends, and found peace and happiness while hiking and spending time in nature with her soulmate, Vance, whom she shared 32 years of marriage with.

A devoted Jehovah’s Witness, Genny loved God deeply and faithfully shared her beliefs. Her strong faith sustained her throughout her cancer journey, during which she inspired many with her strength and grace. 

Genny is survived by her husband and best friend, Vance Bratko; her two daughters, Corissa and Kendra; her four beloved grandchildren, Cassidy, Kaley, Kieran, and Evieor; her sister, Sheri Bloomfield, as well as numerous friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (4802 57 Avenue, Wetaskiwin).

Genny will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, unwavering faith, and the profound love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and in the lives she touched so deeply. 

She will be forever loved and dearly missed.
