It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, at the age of 80 years. He was the G.O.A.T. of the family (Greatest of all time)! His family was his pride and joy, all of them. He used his love of gardening and his green thumb to do what he loved to do; give and give to all. He gave you potatoes even if you didn’t need them, or cucumbers whether you wanted them or not. He was very giving, kind, and the hardest worker when we had a project to accomplish.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Arla (Miller) Orom; children Chad Orom, and Tina (Mark) Stewart; grandchildren Jeffrey (Ariel), Emily (Matt), Gregory (Rachel), Jenalee (Tye), Owen, and Erik; great-grandson Ezra; brothers Jack (Cec) Orom, Murray (Michelle) Orom, and Gene (Donna) Orom; as well as many amazing nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends.
Garry was predeceased by his son Stephen Orom; daughter Lori Orom; brothers Cam Orom, Butch Orom, and Ron Orom; brother-in-law Leonard Sorum, as well as his parents Lawrence and Margaret (nee Kerik) Orom.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ponoka First Baptist Church Auditorium at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024.
