Evena (Fleck) Long

Evena Long of Ponoka, Alberta, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre. Born on July 25, 1940, in Macklin, Saskatchewan, to Maria and Marcus Fleck, Evena lived a life full of love, adventure, and joy.

Evena was a devoted friend and family member, always ready for new experiences, music, and dancing. She cherished her daily coffee outings with friends, which brought her immense happiness.

She is survived by her loving children Darryll and Sandra (Terry); her cherished grandchildren Catlin, Jenna (Tony), Corey, and Kent (Tenniel); and her adored great-grandchildren Ethan, Joshua, Sydne, Jordyn, Ashton, and Aubree. Evena also leaves behind her dear sisters Linda Gaida and Violet Lorenz; brother-in-law Glen Crandall; sisters-in-law Carol Fleck, Gay Groves, Fay Stewart, and Jane Zielie; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Long; also twin sons and four brothers & five sisters.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
