It is with our heavy hearts that we announced the passing of Ervin Newton. Ervin departed this world on December 11th, peacefully in his home. Ervin was recently predeceased by his best friend and loving wife of 61 years, Darlene Newton.
He cherished his role as a loving husband, dedicated father, and an awesome grandpa. He embraced every moment spent with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and quiet strength. Colleagues respected him for his skill and integrity, and he formed lifelong friendships through the brother ship of linemen. At home, he carried the same values into his family life: showing up, working hard, and loving without conditions. Whether climbing poles or raising children, Ervin brought heart, humor, and a humble determination to serve others. His legacy lives on not only in the systems he helped build, but in the family he cherished and the lives he touched.
Ervin is survived by his children, Lorrie (Doug) Dorscht, Sherry (Mike) Menard, Darren ( Nelia) Newton, Christie Newton; grandchildren, Adam (Megan), Shannon, Jamie (Karrie), Katlin (Shay), Dustin (Courtney), Nicholas (Courtney), Lindsey, Kayla (Noah), Kora-lee (Matt), and Kordell; great-grandchildren, Kiara, Cooper, Theo, Parker, Hudson, Aubrey, Rylee, Casey, Kayden, Nixon, Natalie, Weston, Sofia and Sadie.
Ervin will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, united once more in the eternal love they shared throughout their lives. Details regarding the graveside service and reception will be shared at a later date, offering family and friends the chance to gather, honor his memory, and celebrate the enduring love that continues to surround him.
If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation
