It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest “Ernie” Andrew Heidt on May 3, 2022 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton.

Ernie was born in Lacombe, Alberta. His family moved to the Lake Bend area and Ernie attended school in Mirror where he graduated. Ernie met the love of his life, Margaret, and they were married in 1968. Ernie spent the majority of his life working in the oilfield, which took him and his family to many places around the world and later brought them back to Bashaw.

Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Margaret (Borup) Heidt; their children Michael (Jamie) Heidt and Dawna (Michael) Andriatz; his five grandchildren Michael Ernest Heidt, Jordan (Mariella) Andriatz, Jaclyn (Derrick) Meikle, Matthew Andriatz, and Daniel Andriatz; three great-grandchildren Carter Karwandy, JordynLynn Heidt, and Layton Meikle; brother Ken (Rochelle) Heidt, sister-in-law Judy Heidt, and brother-in-law Kim Cazes; also numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret Heidt; his brother Raymond Heidt, brother-in-law Ted Borup and sister-in-law Pamela (Mickie) Cazes.

The family will be holding a Graveside Memorial Service
at a later date when they can all gather.
