Emilia Negoescu Obituary

With full hearts and deep sorrow, we share the passing of Emilia Negoescu on March 26, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta. After a courageous battle with cancer, she is now at peace.

Emilia was born on March 19, 1965, in Romania. She later made her home in Canada, where she raised her family in Windsor, Ontario, before moving to Calgary in 2006. No matter where life took her, she carried with her a deep devotion to family, love, and the quiet strength of being there for the people she loved.

She will be remembered for the warmth she gave so freely, for her love of cooking, and for the way she made a house feel like home. Being around her felt comforting. She had a natural eye for beauty and created spaces that felt calm and cared for. She found peace in gardening, tending to her surroundings with patience and intention. She loved the simple things, and somehow made them feel like everything.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved mornings at the farmers market, long shopping trips, and the memories made on family road trips. In earlier years, summers at Point Pelee, road trips to Niagara Falls and Cedar Point became part of the story she built with her family, memories that will live on through them.

She shared a loving marriage of over forty years with her husband, Samuel, and was deeply proud of her daughters, Ema and Jennifer. She loved her brothers and sisters, her nieces and nephews, and held her extended family close to her heart. Their presence and support meant so much to her, especially in her final days.

She shared a beautiful and lasting bond with her parents, Constantine and Emilia, a relationship grounded in love that stayed strong throughout her life.

She found joy in music, from Christian worship to house and soft electronic sounds, reflecting the softness and quiet vibrancy of who she was.

A woman of deep faith, Emilia loved Jesus with her whole heart and lived her life guided by that faith. She now rests in His presence.

She loved white flowers, especially white roses, and wished to be laid to rest in a white dress, a reflection of the peace, light, and purity she carried within her.

Emilia will be deeply missed by her husband, daughters, parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a feeling that cannot be replaced, only carried forward.

A Gaveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at the Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta.
