“Don’t Grieve For Me, For I am Free!”
Elsie leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Ron of Calgary, AB, Garry (Johan) of Kamloops, BC, and Harley (Brenda) of Battle Lake, AB. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Mark (Leslie), Duncan (Jackie), Scott (Beth), Fraser (Alyssa), Kathryn, Emma; great-grandchildren, Margaret, Lillian, Ryder, Sloan, Lou, Dallas and Tavah. She will also be remembered by her sister-in-law, Helen McLeod; nieces, nephews, and a large extended family and friends. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Ivor; parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Ann.
Ivor and Elsie were married May 15, 1948 in Mather United Church. They started their life together in Clearwater, MB. Their three boys were born there. In 1963, they moved to Thompson, MB and lived there for 26 years, retiring in Crystal City, MB in 1989. Elsie worked for the government for 20 years. She did many crafts, helped as a leader in 4H, Tawny Owl with Brownies, was a member of U.C.W. and Ladies Auxiliary (Legion). Elsie moved to Alberta in 1997, made many life long friends and always enjoyed a game of cards.
By her request, there will be no funeral service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
