Ellen Mary (Sharp) Leiske

It is with sadness that the family of Ellen Mary Leiske announce her passing on August 27, 2019 at the Royal Oak Village in Lacombe, at 91 years of age.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children Dale Leiske and companion Jennifer Smith of Kamloops, Barb (Larry) Wyse of Kelowna, Marlene (John) Gillies of Lacombe, and Charlotte (Magdi) Georges of Ottawa; as well as eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren that were the joy of her life.  Ellen was predeceased by her husband Marvin; best companion Amber; her parents Alex and Jean Sharp; and her brother Don Sharp.

Ellen had been a member of the Lacombe Rebekahs, long-time supporter and season ticket holder of the Red Deer Rebels, as well as being actively involved with the Lacombe Rockets over the years.

A special thank you for the care by Dr. Chatelle, Dr. Olivier, LPN Arun Jose, the Lacombe paramedics, and the caring staff at Royal Oak, especially those that she considered her extra grandchildren.

At Ellen’s request there will not be a formal funeral service.  As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the local SPCA animal shelter or The Lending Cupboard.
