Betty was predeceased by her husband Melvin Bonnett in 1996 and their two children Donald and Dawne, her parents George and Margaret Pugh, her parents in law Paul and Hilda Bonnett, sisters Georgina Kocyba, Mary Mackie, Gwladys Krossa, her sister in laws Violet Fenske, Gloria Bonnett and Fern Watson, her brother in laws Paul Krossa, John Kocyba, Bob Ravnsborg, Harold Bonnett, Bill Fenske and son-in-law William Armitage.

Betty was born on December 2nd 1929, on her parent’s farm east of Ponoka in the Mecca Glen District. She left home at 15 to attend school in Ponoka and worked for a family for her room and board. When she finished grade 11 she went to work at Alberta Hospital Ponoka. It was then that she met the love of her life Melvin and they wed on June 22, 1951. They farmed in the Poplar Forest District until retirement in 1988.

Betty enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing and  working on her puzzles, word games and playing cards. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active volunteer in the community and was a member of the Poplar Forest Ladies Auxiliary and the Royal Canadian Legion.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her beautiful spirit will live on.
