It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Elizabeth Mathilda Kuefler on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the age of 87 years.
Elizabeth Mathilda Kuefler was born on November 19, 1937, at Macklin, Saskatchewan. She was the 12th of 14 children of Reinhold and Josephine Stang. Elizabeth grew up at Macklin, Saskatchewan, and, as a teen, attended the convent at Prelate. She then worked at Macklin hospital before moving to Alberta to work as a nurse at Galahad hospital. There, she met and married Loren Kuefler on March 31, 1959. They settled into their forever home, on the farm at Mulhurst Bay, in 1974.
Elizabeth was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, needlework, baking, preserving, and painting. She had a beautiful singing voice, and played the guitar and piano. She was also a devout Catholic Church member, where she helped teach Roman Catholic Instruction (RCIA) and catechism, sang in the choir, and participated in mass. Elizabeth's love for family was boundless. Her Sunday visits with her children and grandchildren were a cherished ritual, and she fostered a bond with them that will always be treasured.
