Eleanor Doris Westendorf

Eleanor Westendorf, 80, of Wetaskiwin AB passed away Jan 5, 2022. Eleanor is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, of 61 years, Art; children, Wayne (Barb Glaser) Westendorf and Alanna (John McInnes); Campbell; grandchildren Arinn, Devin, Megan (Chris), and Addison; great grandchildren, Ava and Remington.
Eleanor grew up in Falun, AB. She graduated from Camrose Lutheran College, then married Art in 1960. They made their home raising their family on a now 5th generation farm. Besides being a farm wife and mother, Eleanor had many successful careers. She and Art ran their own businesses; Wetaskiwin Auction Mart, Hill and Dale Insurance and Realty, and later Art Westendorf Auctions. She also worked at French’s and Elvis Jewelry.

As busy as they were, her family always came first. She always gave a helping hand to friends and neighbours, and she lovingly cared for her and Art’s elderly parents. She was a wonderful mother and grandma, and loved spoiling her grandchildren. Eleanor’s immense and giving heart extended to every animal on the farm and her large and bountiful, weedless garden. She is now at peace and will be deeply missed.
