Douglas Wayne Harris
July 22, 1948 - July 28, 2026
On July 28, 2026, Doug Harris passed away peacefully at the age of 78 years.
Doug was an avid hunter, fisherman, guitar player, and bird carver. He found great joy in the outdoors, his music, and the artistry of his carvings.
Doug will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Phyllis; his son, Craig; his sisters, Shirley Langmaid (friend, Marvin) of Sylvan Lake and Donna (Jim) Turney of Ponoka; his brothers-in-law, Harold (Brenda) Bakke and Barry (Shelley) Bakke of Fort Saskatchewan; and his sister-in-law, Ramona Kobelka of Surrey, British Columbia.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, Albertha and Donald "Bud" Harris; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Bakke; his father-in-law, Harold Bakke; and his brothers-in-law, Lloyd and Dale Bakke.
Doug is also survived by numerous extended family members and many friends who will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.
In Doug’s memory, donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Respecting Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a service honouring his life will be held at a later date.
