Dorothy “Ruth” (Shields) Tessari
January 27, 1931 - September 23, 2020

Ruth Tessari, age 89, now rests peacefully with her Savior.

Her heart’s desire was always to help and mentor those, (especially children), struggling with life’s issues. Ruth was born at Camrose, Alberta. Her father was a pastor at various places in the three prairie provinces.

Ruth attended high school at Prairie College, Three Hills AB., then studied three more years at the same school. She was later employed at Prairie and there met her first husband, John Shields. They married September 12, 1959, and most of their married years were spent sharing their joint vision of helping the less fortunate.

Bidding farewell to dearly loved Ruth, and sharing fond memories of her, are Ernie - her husband of 16 years, her son Ernie (Debra) Shields and their children Amy (Eric) Thiessen and Kaylee Shields; Ruth’s daughter Faith Shields and her children, Leda, Mikias and Yohannes; Ruth’s brothers, Dave (Lorraine) Anderson and Phil (Evelyn) Anderson; her sisters-in-law, Audrey Anderson, Thelma Anderson, Marlene Shields and Carol Shields; plus numerous nieces and nephews; four step-daughters; one step-son; fourteen step-grandchildren and fifteen step-great grandchildren.

Arriving at life’s end before Ruth was her first husband, John Shields, (November 21, 1999); her father and mother, Ernest B and Dorothy L Anderson; and her brothers, Arnell, Don and Paul Anderson. 

A private, family graveside service is being held, and Ruth’s family is planning a public service for a later date, in celebration of her life.

Families of both Ernie and Ruth sincerely appreciate the loving assistance provided at the Good Shepherd Home during her sunset years and, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, would be pleased with memorial donations to the Good Samaritan Society (designated for The Good Shepherd Home).
