Doreen Louise (Simmons) Ross

Doreen Louise Ross (nee Simmons) was born July 21, 1927 and passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice, on Saturday, June 15, 2019.

She was predeceased by her father George Simmons, her mother Martha (Hitchen/Simmons) Matthews, her step-father Bob Matthews and the love of her life, her husband Bob (Robert) Ross. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Mary Ross (Jim O’Keefe), her son Blake Ross (Carla Richartz-Ross) and her daughter Nancy Ross (Ed Chan); and her grandchildren Lauren Ross (Cody Moench), Shannon Ross, Rachel Chan, Stephanie Chan, and Sarah Chan.

Doreen was proud of the community she came from and participated in many organizations over the years including: the Order of the Eastern Star, Kinettes and K-40 Club, Red Cross, and the Brick School Committee. Her passions were her family and friends, her pets, playing piano, and her flower garden. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home with lunch to follow at the St. Mary's Anglican Church Hall.  Please feel free to wear purple, pink or both and don’t forget your sparkles.

 Memorial donations may be made to the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society, Red Deer Hospice, or Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre Ladies Auxiliary.
