Donald "Donnie" Edward Williams

Donald “Donnie” Williams passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the Red Deer Hospital, with his family by his side.

Born on February 23, 1953, the youngest son of Ronald and Hester Williams, brother to Lorne and Ken. He married Georgia in 1973 and took over the family farm at the age of 18. They went on to have four daughters. Donnie spent 50 years farming west of Ponoka where he raised his family.

Farming wasn’t just a job for Donnie — it was his way of life. He took great pride in working the land and caring for his cattle. Most of all, Donnie loved his family. He worked hard to care for and support them in every way he could. He will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and dedication. Throughout his many health struggles, Donnie never lost his fighting spirit and faced every challenge with courage and dignity. We were honored to call him Dad, Papa, Uncle, Brother, and Friend. He will be dearly missed, always remembered, and forever loved.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Lori in 2024. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Georgia; and his daughters Kari (Curt) Topham, Jacey (Ryan) Gillespie, Shaily (Chad) Cargill; his brothers Ken (Lynn) Williams and Lorne Williams. He will be remembered with love always by his grandchildren Delaney, Grady, Raeleigh, Deacon, Kalia and Kellan.

The family wishes to send a special thanks to Dr. Chan as well as the medical staff at Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre and Red Deer Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Donnie at the Stagecoach Saloon in Ponoka on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
