Denise was the first born of Bert and Betty Gruntman. She grew up on a small farm north of Duhamel. In 1974, she moved to New Norway and in 1976 married Rick Solverson and started their family. She completed her nursing degree in Red Deer. She was a registered nurse and worked at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in the dialysis unit. Her love of knowledge and caring for her patients was a tribute to her profession. Denise purchased a house in Blackfalds where she lived until her first stroke in January, 2020.
Denise leaves to mourn her 4 children: Jason (Meghan and her son Bevyn) of Lacombe, Gary (Claudia) and grandson Liam of Calgary, Kylie (Wes) Smallenberg of Nanaimo, British Columbia, and Tony and granddaughter Falynn of Blackfalds; her brother Darryl (Janice) Gruntman of Sherwood Park; her sister Kari (Leon) Braseth of Bashaw; her brother-in-law Peter (Adele) Towpich of Bashaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. Denise was predeceased by her parents Bert in 1992, Betty in 2018, and sister Twylene Towpich in 1993.
Denise's sanctuary was the family campsite by Ferintosh. Many happy memories were made there.
