David Parker Obituary

David Lee Parker was born November 28, 1947 in Dallas Oregon, USA and died May 31, 2021in Lacombe Alberta, Canada at 73 years of age.

David was married to Thelma Doreen Parker (Stutt) August 27, 1967 in Powell River BC. David was a big believer in Adventist education. He was a graduate of Portland Adventist Academy. He went on to gain his education degree from Walla Walla University in 1970 and his masters degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction from La Sierra University. He started his teaching degree at Coralwood Adventist Jr. Academy from 1971 to 1974. He followed this by teaching at Father Turcott Elementary in Ft. Mc Murray AB from 1974 to 1981. In 1981 he moved the family to Lacombe where he taught at College Heights Adventist Jr. Academy until 1997. Following his teaching degree he worked with Catholic Social Services until 2019 providing care for vulnerable adults in their group homes in Red Deer and Lacombe.

David is survived by his wife Thelma Parker; sisters Marie Beck and Barbara Roberts; and children Rob Parker, Brian Parker, and Bonnie Schulte. He has 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

David was an active member of the Lacombe Community Seventh-day Adventist Church from 1982 until his passing. He loved teaching Sabbath School and continued being an active member until his death. In addition to his family and church he loved his pets, his garden, fishing, muscle cars, motorcycles, camping and scrabble. Dad will be greatly missed. We are looking forward to being reunited with David when Christ returns.
