David Ewart Obituary

David "Dave" Eric Ewart of Falun, Alberta passed away peacefully Friday, February 27, 2026 at the age of 81.

Dave was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on May 12, 1944, and lived his entire life on the family farm at Falun. He is predeceased by his loving wife Lynette, his father and mother, Bob and Inga, his father and mother in laws, Ivan and Frieda Day, his brother Allan and his sister Gladys Begg.

Mourning his passing are his sons Brian (Debbie) and Neil (Janice), his daughter Janet (Troy) Barmby, grandchildren Chance Ewart, Stephanie Charlton, Emma and Brady Ewart, Paige and Karter Barmby, his brother Les (Bea), his sister Kathy (Len) Bauder, nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends.

His passion for farming was legendary, and he took great pride in constantly improving the land and his herd of cattle. Shortly after completing high school and the passing of his father, Dave took over the farm, ever determined to make his father proud. With his deep love for his bride Lynette, together, they built a beautiful family farm.

Dave extensively travelled the globe, cultivating and growing enduring relationships with new friends and extended family. Dave was genuine, generous and loved deeply. He cherished sharing his time in laughter with family and friends.

A Celebration of Dave’s Life will take place Friday, May 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Falun Community Hall. Inurnment at the Dalby Cemetery and lunch at the Falun Community Hall to follow.
