David Albert Brown passed away suddenly at the age of 55 on May 31, 2020.
David enjoyed people; he loved to play cards, curl, and fish. Golfing was a favorite pastime; you could always hear his boisterous laugh and easily locate him on the golf course. He had a generous, thoughtful nature and thought nothing of dropping by with pans of fudge, Rice Krispy squares or puffed wheat cake. David touched many lives with his fun loving spirit. Known as Henry to his friends, he dedicated countless hours helping family and friends with their projects. Reaching out and being a service to those in need was embedded in his character.
David lived in the Bashaw community for most of his life; where he was well known for his great work ethic at a young age. Rototilling gardens, mowing grass and shoveling snow occupied his time around the neighborhood. At a very young age he was part of the family crew building grain bins for farmers. David started out at the Bashaw grain elevator in 1983 then moved to the oil/gas industry in 1994 where he continued working until 2017. In 2018 David started working at the Bashaw Seed Cleaning Plant until his passing. Working with the farming community was so rewarding for him.
David will be remembered by his sisters Terri Brown-Gust (Bryan), Tracey Foot (Mervin) and his brothers Robert (Leanne), and Michael. David was dearly loved by his nieces and nephews: Lauren Gust (Nick), Wyatt Brown, Cody, Dustin, Dallas, & Jessica Brown, Rochelle, Morgan, & Christin Foot (Kyle) and great nephew Kingston Foot. He was predeceased by his brother James, his parents Thomas and Marianne, and nephew Justin.
Special thanks to his many friends and neighbours for their friendship and support. Dave loved you!
There will not be a formal public funeral service to respect provincial gathering restrictions.
Memorial donations in honour of David are gratefully accepted to the charity of your choice.
