Harold Dale Lance passed away on December 9, 2024 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 85 years.
Dale is survived by his loving daughter Cathy (Arthur) Malterer and their children Bradley, Brenda, John, and Trevor; loving daughter Nichole (Gordon) Ortwein and their children Angelina and Ashley; loving daughter Audrey Lance (Clint Siemens); loving daughter Linda (Matthew) Jordan and their children Kristen, Brayden, Austin, and Mason; and loving daughter Wendy (Dale) Perkins and their children Kyoshi and Izzabella; as well as his great-grandchildren.
Dale was predeceased by his second wife "Mary" Louise Wildcat Lance; his father and mother Harold and Laura Lance; step-mother Ceri Lance; sister Phyllis Lance; and his brother Eugene Lance.
Dale lived a full life with a passion for farming, pool, hunting, dancing, and singing. He loved the community and traditions of the Cree culture. So much so, he learned the language and prided himself with speaking it as often as he could. He loved to teach about anything, especially about agriculture, oils, mechanics, and pool. Dale was well known for showing up for a visit or to help with a project when and where he could. Dale will forever be remembered for a smile on his face and a story or joke for one and all.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Dale's life will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home with the Interment Service following at Forest Home Cemetery in Ponoka.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Ponoka Fish & Game Association.
