Following a lengthy illness, longtime Lacombe resident Dale, entered into peaceful rest at the age of 72 years. Born the third child of John and Pearl Green and raised on the farm in the Thorsby/Bonnie Glen district, she attended the Pipestone school leaving early to embark on the life of wife and motherhood. On February 28, 1964 she became the life companion of Raymond Dreger, also of the same area. To this couple four children were born, Judy Elizabeth, Darren Raymond (on Dale’s birthday), Randy William and Holly Dayle. Joining our family are Peter Fraiberg, Lori Cherniak, Holly Polson and Blake Wilkie. Dale was blessed with 12 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jessica, Madison, Evan (Daniela), and Jarrett Rafuse (Lindsay). Joel (Danielle) and Gillian Dreger, Kaden, Ella, Olivia and Nate Dreger, and Colton and Carson Wilkie. With an added bonus of two great-grandchildren, Ava and Noah.
As a busy mother and homemaker, Dale found time to spend 25 years as a red meat profiler at the Lacombe Research Station. Having four kids involved in sports and later grandchildren, occupied much of her time running to practices, games, figure skating, ringette, dance, soccer, baseball, football and enjoying every minute.
Dale was predeceased by her parents, John and Pearl Green; sisters-in-law, Susan and Connie Green; brother-in-law, Jim Wright ;and nephew, Shawn Green. She is survived by her sister, Marge; brothers, Don, Dwain, Jim (Deb), Gary (Viola). Also mourning our loss along with their families are Ruth and Don Rathje, Don and Barb Dreger, Faith (Michelle) Kennedy, Sandra and Jim Klinger, Norma Heartberg and Virginia Wong of Victoria, who pen-pal’d Dale for sixty years. We are heartbroken and devastated but eternally grateful for the unconditional love she shared with her family and friends.
A celebration of life in Dale's honour will be held at a later date. Donations in Dale's name are gratefully accepted to The Lung Association, Alberta & NWT (17420 Stony Plain Rd #208, Edmonton, AB T5S 1K6)
