Curtis was born to Barbara and Ed Zimmer on December 9,1961 in Ponoka, Alberta and passed away May 30, 2026.
Curtis is survived by his brothers Lyle (Maxine), Grant (Val) and Robert; sister Karen (Brian) Williams; niece Crystal Zimmer; nephews Preston (Brianne) and Darren (Holly) Zimmer and Bryn and Nathan Williams; great-nephews Blake, Logan and Rhett Zimmer; and great-nieces Devon, Payton, Willa and Rosie Zimmer.
He was predeceased by his mother Barbara in 2012; father Ed in 2009 and nephew Ryan Zimmer in 2015.
There was a special place in his heart for his great-nephews Blake and Logan. He always remembered their birthday with a card and a few dollars to go out and buy a treat.
He started in the oil patch after high school and was as far as Tuktoyaktuk, NWT. When he couldn’t work in the oil patch anymore, he found various jobs in construction before he wasn’t able to work due to an injury. He loved to build things from wood.
He has struggled with his health for the past few years but can now rest in peace.
In lieu of a public memorial service, the family warmly invites those who wish to honor Curtis’s spirit to make donations in his memory to the Bashaw Cemetery Fund, or the Stollery Children's Hospital.
