Claire Clement Websdale was born May 29th, 1945 to Harold and Edith Websdale in Elk Point, Alberta. Claire was the seventh of eight children.
As a young boy, the family moved farms several times, at times living in Landonville, Clandonald, and Armstrong, BC before finally settling in Coronation, Alberta, where Claire finished high school.
After high school graduation, Claire began as a trainee with Alberta Treasury Branch, becoming a branch manager in short order.
Being a manager meant a number of different postings, and through his 20 year career with ATB, he worked in multiple locations in central and southern Alberta.
It was in Vulcan that Claire met the love of his life, Sandra Mason, and they were married on July 12, 1967 in Red Deer.
After finishing his career with ATB, Claire and Sandra started their own business, which they operated for over 37 years. They eventually settled on a farm near Millet, Alberta, and resided there until his passing.
Claire leaves behind to mourn his wife of 57 years, Sandra, daughter Valarie Layden (Bruce), and their four daughters, Jessica and Kyler Marshall, Jenita and Chase Gibson, Natasha Layden, and Brianna and Shane Bontron; son Kevin and his three children James, Simone and Peter; son Keith (Arlene) and their three daughters, Aleiya, Danielle, and Taylor, and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Marshall, and Marilla Gibson.
A Funeral Service for Claire will be held at Wetaskiwin Full Gospel Fellowship (3916 64 St, Wetaskiwin) on April 26th at 11:00 a.m. A reception to follow immediately after the service. Interment to be at the Wiesenthal Cemetery for immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claire's memory to the Alberta Heart And Stroke Foundation.
