Christine Joan Spiess, fondly known as Chrissy, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 at the age of 70 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Born on March 2, 1955 in Hanna, Alberta, she committed her life’s work to the caring profession as a healthcare aide, serving the elderly with grace and dedication.
Chrissy’s role as a mother and a grandmother was infused with love, support, and an unwavering dedication that made her the heart of her family. She leaves behind a legacy through her loving children: son Robin, daughter Jennelle and her spouse Andy, and son Jonathan; as well as her adored grandchildren, Parker, Isabel and Alivia. She is also survived by her sisters, Colleen and Glenn Smith, and Bev and Johnny Sinclair; brother-in-law, Robby and Gerry Spiess; and her sister-in-law, Jackie and Terry Fryk - all whom will miss her profoundly. Chrissy was predeceased by her esteemed parents, Ron and Ruby Havell, George and Roberta Spiess; her cherished husband, Mark Spiess; her daughter, Andrea Spiess and her brother-in-law, Kevin Gladdish.
Her personal joys included camping, traveling, and investing precious time with her family, ensuring that every moment was a treasure to be held in their hearts.
A private graveside service will take place. However, we invite the public to join the family to remember and celebrate Chrissy’s life at By-The-Lake-Park Hall on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
In remembrance of Chrissy, contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Diabetes Canada - both a reflection of her caring spirit. Her memory will be held in the highest regard, as she touched many lives with her kindness and nurturing love.
