Chantelle Lynne Van Slyke (Tonhauser) was born on July 2nd, 1972, and passed away suddenly on November 29th, 2024.
Chantelle was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend to many. Chantelle’s first priority was always her family - she was an inspirational mother who poured every ounce of love and energy into her son, Corey. She was a beautiful, supportive, and dedicated wife to her husband Ryan, and made sure to be by his side at every possible opportunity. Chantelle was heavily involved in the community - a member of the Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, Pigeon Lake Child and Family Society, and Pigeon Lake Chamber Of Commerce for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed planning community events such as the annual Ice Golf tournament. Chantelle was a lover of animals (excluding birds) and enjoyed the companionship of many over the years with a special place in her heart just for Boxers - specifically her beloved goof Toby. She was a multi-tasking queen with many talents. Chantelle was the one who the family would turn to if they had any tech questions, or needed information about something. She always seemed to have an answer, and if she didn't, she would have one shortly! One of her hobbies included making art and jewelry with acrylic paints, which she happily shared with her family and friends. Chantelle was always quick to laugh and never hesitated to tell you what she thought of something - a brutally honest and sarcastic genius. Her perspective and commentary on life will be deeply missed by all who had the immense privilege of knowing her.
Chantelle is predeceased by her paternal grandparents Mike Tonhauser, Walter and Meta Phillips; maternal grandparents Stan and Evelyn Watson; uncle and aunt Jerry and Gayle Watson; and infant sister Shelly Tonhauser.
Chantelle is survived by her loving husband Ryan; wonderful son Corey; parents Marvin and Marilyn Tonhauser; sister Michelle (Logan) Tonhauser; brother Dan Tonhauser; nieces Morgan (Ryan) Marocco, Danielle (Travis) Driedger and sons, Erin Tonhauser; nephew Gunner Anderson; and lifelong friends Bonnie Dickau and Katie Caswell-Boeve.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 86 (5003 52 Ave, Wetaskiwin, Alberta).
Lunch will be provided by the Ladies Auxiliary.
