Byron "Red" Garfield Hurlburt, 84, of Tofield, Alberta, passed away on March 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 31, 1941, in Radville, Saskatchewan, to Adrian and Maxine Hurlburt.
He was the beloved husband of the late Vivian Hurlburt (2013), and loving father to Tammy (Bawby), Gayle (Ivan), Myrna, Rodney (Tammy), Raymond (Melissa), and Shila (Real). Byron was a proud grandfather of nine, and great-grandfather of eight, cherishing every moment spent with his family.
Byron worked for many years as a dedicated salesman. He loved visiting with friends, fishing, taking his family to lakes—especially Pierce Lake—playing tricks on his loved ones, and enjoying a good beer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and many other relatives and in-laws.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date. Byron "Red" Hurlburt will be fondly remembered for his humor, warmth, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
