Brian Vance Moore

The family of Brian Vance Moore of Wetaskiwin Alberta is saddened to announce his sudden passing on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 73 years of age with his wife/best friend by his side.

Brian will be lovingly remembered by wife of 45 years Wilma; children Ian and Erin (Ryan); grandchildren Benjamin, Claire and Isla; siblings James (Sherrill) and Heather (Rick), and numerous other family members and friends.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen, stepmother Joan, and infant daughter Meghan.

Brian was born in Edmonton on May 6, 1953. He lived in Stettler in his childhood and throughout his schooling years until he moved to a farm in Mirror. He then received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in economics and commerce 1978. He spent much of his career in finance and banking before moving on to security in his later life. Brian’s career transferred him and his family to many communities throughout Alberta creating many friendships and experiences as they went. He enjoyed outdoor activities of camping, hiking and shooting which lead him into organizations such as Scouting and the Alberta Black Powder Association; with which he formed meaningful friendships and shared his skills and knowledge with others. Brian struggled with major health issues over the last twenty years with which he faced with strength and resilience.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 29, 2026 at Baker Funeral Chapel (5302 50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, Alberta).

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wetaskiwin Hospital. Brian felt safe and well cared for by the Physicians, Nurses, porters, Diagnostic staff etc. Their professionalism and personal care provided great comfort to Brian and his family over the years.
