With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Blaine David Lewis on August 1, 2025.
Blaine was born in Ponoka on July 21, 1950, the first child of Alan and Ethel Lewis. He grew up on the family farm in the Bobtail District and took all his schooling in Ponoka.
In 1973, he and Heather Caldwell were married and he became a proud happy dad to daughter Erin and son Craig.
From a very young age Blaine knew he loved farming and embraced it as his chosen way of life. He and his cousin Ron formed a partnership and worked hard at building the business.
Blaine loved the outdoors and hunted and curled with his buddies, and played ball and hockey as a kid. He was an avid Oilers, Blue Jays, and Elks fan, and followed almost every sport.
He was a dedicated family man, but always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and set an example for all on how to live a good life.
Blaine was predeceased by his parents Alan and Ethel; nephew Wyatt Lewis and great-nephew Tristan; his in-laws Don and Vera Caldwell; and brothers-in-law Ron and Calvin Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife Heather; daughter Erin (Lorne Morrical) and son Craig; brothers Ken (Marilyn) and Garnet (Angie) and their families; sister-in-law Lena Caldwell and family; step-mother Keitha Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A private service is being held.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S.
