Betty Margaret (Finch) Maidment

Betty passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus, at the age of 102 years.

She  was born and raised in Point Edward, Ontario, the youngest of six children born to Walter and Anna Finch.  Betty married Chuck Maidment on March 4, 1943 before he shipped overseas during WW2.  They later raised three children - Lynne, Chuck Jr., and Danny in Point Edward.

Betty will be forever missed by her daughter Lynne (Doug Thorson); daughters-in-law Tania Maidment and Marlyn Maidment; her two “like sons” Jim and John Finch; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Mom so loved her grandchildren Leanna (Chris Musson), Laura (Elijah Mitchell), Lori (Brent MacDonald), and Craig (Katie).  Betty “Nana” was so proud of her great-grandchildren Lilly and Hemi Mitchell, Nolan, Hunter, and Brayden McKinlay, and Grayson, Nash, and Emmett Maidment.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband Chuck (1988), and sons Chuck Jr. (2020) and Danny (2016).

God blessed Betty with a full life, filled with love.  Her heartwarming smile and caring ways touched many lives.

In keeping with mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.  Cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest at a later date in Forest, Ontario in the Beechwood Cemetery beside her husband Chuck.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Ponoka Church of the Open Bible, Northcott Care Centre, or any charity of your choice.
