Betty Arner Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Betty Ann Arner share her sudden passing at the age of 85. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Peggy Harrison of California; and sister in law, Jean Ketchin of Red Deer; numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Al Arner; brothers, Robert and Bill (twin) Ketchin; sister, Jennee Blythe (Ketchin); and her nephew, Bobby Ketchin.

Betty was born in Wetaskiwin youngest daughter of Emma and William Ketchin. Always very active she loved summers spent at Mameo Bleach, a place she never tired of, playing ball, skating, skiing, dancing and singing.

Betty worked for AGT as an operator/Supervisor for many years until she married Al Arner in 1956. They owned the Sport Shop, it was more than a business, it was part of the community. She was never afraid of hard work, no job was too big for her, a trait she carried throughout her life. She was involved with the Cycle club and helped maintain the trails on their acreage for the many Walking clubs to enjoy. Betty loved nature birds and all animals. Life always included dogs and family. She spent many years volunteering with the Twilighters Club. Family, and time spent with them was very important to her. All of her nieces and nephews have wonderful memories of time spent with Aunty Betty, She will be missed by all but our memories will last forever. Private Internment took place of November 10th officiated by Reverend Ruth Lumax.
