Bertha Courser Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of Bertha Courser on June 6, 2021. In her 91 years, Bertha left an indelible mark on the lives of many people.

On January 22, 1930, in Ferrybank, Alberta, her parents, Oron and Edith Santee, welcomed her into the world. She grew up and attended school while living on her parents' farm. In her teen years she fell in love with a good-looking war veteran, Victor Courser. They were married on June 9, 1949. Soon, their family circle expanded with the birth of two daughters, Terri and Cathie. Then, came the anticipated days when she welcomed the births of her grandsons, Bryan, Travis and Brad. She was so proud and treasured her time with them.

She took great interest in her numerous life pursuits. Her greatest joy was her family. She was the life of the party: loved dancing, music and quilting (which became a passion and an art). She took great delight in observing and identifying aspects of nature around her - birds, flowers, trees, etc. She loved to travel, making trips with Vic, her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Terri (Mark) Morris, of Camrose, Alberta and Cathie Courser of Calgary, Alberta; her grandsons, Bryan (Rachelle) Morris, of Edmonton, Alberta, Travis Bingeman of Calgary, Alberta, Bradford (George) Morris, of Peoria, Arizona; her great grandchildren, Erika, Kaeli, Gillian, Gradin and Anna, of Edmonton, Alberta; her brother, Vernon Santee of Lacombe, Alberta; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Oron and Edith Santee; her husband Vic; her sister, Ramona; and her brother, Ernie.

Her family and friends will greatly miss her. She was a classy lady in so many ways. Blessed be the memories of her. A burial by the family is being planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, or any charity of one's choice.
