Barry Norman Taylor
March 24, 1949 – May 20, 2025
Barry Norman Taylor, 76, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Born on March 24, 1949, in Grantham, England, Barry was the beloved son of the late Bernard and Maud Taylor.
Barry will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Joanne, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion, laughter, and partnership. He was a proud and caring father to the late Scott (Tamara), Richard (Eric), and Angela (Steve). His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren Jordan, Neylla, Devon and Alex all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Barry is also survived by his sister Yvonne, and niece Debra (Cheryl), as well as extended family and friends across Alberta and the UK who were touched by his kindness, wit, and generous spirit.
He was predeceased by his son Scott; his parents, Bernard and Maud Taylor; his sister Doreen and brother Brian; parents-in-law Bill and Kathleen Kohut; brothers-in-law Michael (Mick) Crow and Ron Logan; niece Valarie; and nephews Michael and Ryan.
Barry lived a life marked by quiet strength, thoughtfulness, and a deep love for his family. He enjoyed time spent outdoors, treasured family gatherings, and had a fondness for good conversation and British humour.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barry’s memory may be made to the Huntington Society of Canada (375 Hagey Blvd, Suite 114, Waterloo, Ontario, N2L 6R5) or charity of choice.
A private family service will be held.
