Augusta Elnice Kreutz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Augusta Elnice Kreutz (nee Lorentz) on December 30, 2025 at the Wetaskiwin Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, at the age of 97 years. Augusta will be forever remembered by her children:  Ronald (Delores), Sharon (Edwin) and Douglas; her grandchildren: Shelly (Erik), Tammy (Eric), Ian (Kim), Neil (Narissa), Alyssa (Cody); as well as her great-grandchildren: Theo, Zach, Bree, Brooke, Eva, Dylan, Lucas and Deegan.

Elnice was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Art; her parents, Michael (Pauline); all of her siblings: Lewie, Ed, Selma, Elsie and Norman; daughter-in-law, Debbie; grandson, Tyler; and two nieces, Carol and Brenda.

Being raised on a mixed farm in Leduc county, Elnice made the perfect mixed farmer’s wife and mother. No matter how many long hours or days that she had to spend working outdoors on the farm, Mom always made time to care for us, the house, her large vegetable garden and her precious berry patches. It was her priority to ensure that all visitors were well fed and watered before leaving; which surely would include a variety of her delicious homemade breads, buns, cookies or cakes. Family was her constant focus. She loved to spend many hours colouring, playing cards or games, puzzles, dominos, visiting and laughing together with family and friends. Mom enjoyed making many quilts, wool blankets and feather pillows. Mom also gifted us with her many beautiful, intricate crochet doilies; which have now become our precious treasures.

Cremation has taken place, as per Elnice’s request.
