Arthur Pitcher Obituary

Arthur Thomas Pitcher, a man defined by his devotion to faith, family, and craftsmanship, passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta, on April 17, 2026 at the age of 74.

Born on October 8, 1951 in Cardston, Alberta, to Reed and Bernice Pitcher, Arthur grew up with a strong work ethic and a sense of adventure. He graduated from high school in Oliver, BC, and spent his professional life mastering various trades. From the precision of surveying and the discipline of driving for BC Highways to his time as a meat cutter and his work at the Co-op lumber yard, Arthur was never afraid of hard work. He was especially known for his skill with his hands, creating beautiful, intricate pieces through his passion for leatherwork.

On December 30, 1975, Arthur married his devoted wife, Corinne in Mesa, Arizona. Together, they built a life centered on their shared values and their six children. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Arthur’s faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He completed two full-time missions, served honorably as a temple worker and dedicated himself to a lifetime of faithful service to the Lord.

Arthur’s greatest joy was his family, and he leaves them with this final message: "We love you and thank Heavenly Father every day for our family; we want to be together with you forever."

Arthur is survived by his beloved spouse, Corinne Pitcher; his children, Jared (Kristi) Pitcher, Mike (Holly) Pitcher, Nate (Heather) Pitcher, Angela (Paul) Coutts, and Will (Becky) Pitcher; and 21 grandchildren, Ayden (Kaitlyn), Spencer, Dallin, David, Jenna, Jeremy, Benson, Saydi, Ericson, Lucy, Briggs, Sylvia (Jayden), Natalie, Anastasia, Hazel, Ruby, Susan, Paulina, Vanille, Timmer, and Dannon. He also leaves behind his siblings, Ladene (Lloyd) Reidhead, Ramona (Ernie) Fairburn, Susan (Neil) Wilkinson, Grant (Janelle) Pitcher, and Darin (Teresa) Pitcher, as well as brothers-in-law Ernie Loewen and George Gwilliam.

He was predeceased by his son, Benjamin Pitcher; his grandson, Weston Pitcher; his parents, Reed and Bernice; and his siblings, Janet Loewen, Doug (Helen) Pitcher, Rita (Roger) Fields, and Marlayne Gwilliam.

Services will be held in his honour Monday, April 27th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Wetaskiwin. A viewing will precede the service starting at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m.
