Virginia Frances (Chafe) Casey

Passed peacefully away in the arms of Jesus, at the Lacombe Hospital in Alberta on September 23, 2019, Virginia (Pye) Casey, in her 88th year.

She was the best Mommy, Nanny, and Nanny Honey ever! She was so loved by all who knew her and she loved everyone. We look forward to the Great Resurrection Morning when we can be with her once again, never more to part.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband Fred; her two daughters Carol and Peggy;  her parents Arnold and Molly Chafe; and her two sisters Marj Power and Gerry Rubia.

Leaving to mourn and to remember Virginia with so many cherished memories are her precious sister Peg Frizzell; her children Diane, Jean (Walter), Trish (Lenny), Paul (Jennifer), Geri (Myrna), Billy,  and Fred (Paula); as well as her grandchildren Leigh (Sid), Teena, Robbyn (Kay), Mark (Amanda), Kelly (Tom), Scott, Cheryl(Jeff), Stephen (Melanie), Ben, Kayla (Nimal), Adam, James, and Billy; 15 very special great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her 4-legged snoozing buddy Kayle.  She is also lovingly remembered by son-in-law Rob Ashley; as well as many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many special friends.

Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, St. John's, Newfoundland. Visitation on Tuesday, October 1st from 12:00 - 9:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Barrett's Chapel.  The Interment Service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Mt. Pearl. Donations in her honor can be made to ADRA Canada or A Better World.
