Sterling (Tex) Alexander Johnson Cuthbert

STERLING (TEX) ALEXANDER JOHNSON CUTHBERT

January 28, 1932 - August 19, 2019

Sterling (Tex) passed away suddenly, and peacefully in his sleep.  He will be dearly missed by his children, Patrick (Christine) Cuthbert - Edmonton, Laurie Cuthbert Pollard (Garry Dewald) - Wetaskiwin, Greg (Yola) Cuthbert - Westlock, Steven Cuthbert - Wetaskiwin, and Timothy Cuthbert (Dana Lynn Holinaty) - Bonnyville.  Joining his children in their sadness are his grandchildren: Kevin (Kathleen), Kathleen, Jennifer (Dave) , Melanie, Aaron, Stephanie, Spencer, Brittany, Braden, Baily and Dana, along with his great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kortney, David, Jacob, Melissa, Alexandra, Mackenzie and Emily; and lastly his great-great-grandson, Zayden.  Sterling will be truly missed by his very dear friend, Samantha Woodrow.  He had a special place in his heart for her. 

Sterling made his home in Redwater, Alberta for the last 50 years.  He had made many long-lasting friendships in the music circle.  Sterling was very talented and a true entertainer.  He could play many instruments, but his favourite was the fiddle.  He travelled throughout Alberta and British Columbia participating and competing in many fiddle competitions, and joining fellow musicians in music jams.  He was very involved in the Wildrose Fiddler Association for many years. 

We want to send a special thank you to Sandra and Matt for their help in taking care of Sterling on the farm and in the hospital. 

A service in his memory will be held at the Pioneer Club (4916-50 Street) in Redwater, Alberta on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta or to the Kidney Foundation.
