Stanford Arnt Berg

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce Stanford’s passing. Stan was born and raised near Cadogan, Alberta. At the age of 21, he joined the airforce and served for three years. He met Ellen MacKay in Irma, and they were married in April, 1947. They settled on a farm north of Gwynne and farmed there for many years while raising their three children. They were involved in many community activities, and sports was always a big part of Stan’s life, including baseball, golf, curling, bowling and hunting. Stanford leaves to mourn his wife of 70 years, Ellen; children, Inez (Ken) Niles, Brian (Lorraine) Berg, Rod (Chris) Berg. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Steve (Shannon) Niles, Linnea (Michael) Spiess, Geoff Berg, Jon (Laura) Berg, Ashley (Lance) Todorovich, Adam (Bridget) Berg and Andrew Berg; as well as six great grandchildren, Jacob Niles, Jordana, Vienna and Natalia Spiess, Aleese and Kaylee Todorovich. Stanford was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Alvin, Gordon; as well as his infant brother, Clarence. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wetaskiwin Mission Church - 3610 56 Ave, Wetaskiwin
