Shelia Ann Howey

July 29, 1943 ~ September 13, 2017

Shelia was born in Camrose, Alberta in 1943, and continued to live her life in and around the area. Sadly she lost her father tragically at a young age. She met Leonard shortly after at 15, married at 18, had 3 wonderful children and lived on the Dalrene Farm. Shelia had many different occupations, starting as a waitress, then owning the Junction restaurant and gas station which she ran with her family, a truck driver, bus driver(where she hauled hockey kids around), a tour bus director, worked in the Home Hardware distribution warehouse and finally being a mentor for a young student.

Shelia had big love for the Blue Jays, she knew the roster like they were a part of her family, it gave her such joy to watch all their games and cheer them on. Garth Brooks was also another source of great joy for her, she got the opportunity to see him live last year and it was definitely on her bucket list. She was a woman of many talents; she crocheted beautiful afghans, made photo calendars for family every Christmas, she was a whiz on the computer, an excellent photographer, and scrapbooker. In her last year of life she also loved to color. Her and her sister, Lea would share their masterpieces with each other after each page was completed. She also loved meeting new people and listening to their stories.

She was a positive, resilient woman who had a wonderful soul and a beautiful infectious smile. She was an amazing grandmother and great grandmother and she loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed immensely by her family and friends.

Shelia passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Wetaskiwin, Alberta on September 13, 2017 at the age of 74.

She is survived by her loving family; children, Tracy (Chris) Harper, Trevor (Kim) Dyer and Warren (Maria) Dyer; grandchildren, Nathan (Charlotte) Harper, Brandy-Lynn (Jamie) Bodnariuk, Jayden Dyer, Jose Dyer, Sydney Dyer and Leo Dyer; great grandchildren, Ellaura-Lynn and Victor Bodnariuk, Rhiannon and Tristan Harper; siblings, Lea (Earl) Thompson, Lindsay (Barb) Howey and James Flint as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Shelia was predeceased by her parents, Ivan & Ruth.
