Welcome to the memorial page for

Selma Wilhelmina Schmuland

January 24, 1918 ~ October 30, 2017 (age 99) 99 Years Old

It is with deep sadness the family of Selma announces her passing at the age of 99 years, on the 30th of October, 2017.  Left to share her precious memories are her loving children, Roy (Billie), Marvin & Donna, Marlene (George); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Elsie Klone, and Margaret  Lind.  Selma is predeceased by her husband, Arnold; daughter-in-law, Marlene; son-in-law, Ken; sisters, Ruth, Rosie, Violet and Myrtle; brother Archie; great grandson, Tanner.

Selma’s real home was always her farm, homesteaded in 1938, where she was proud of her independence and constantly spent time with one of her greatest pleasures - maintaining her yard.  You would find her digging in the dirt, planting bulbs and seeds in her garden and harvesting the fruits of her labour with her dog and cat by her side.  Her store room, fridge and two freezers were filled to the brin with goodies that she always shared with her family and whomever drove into her yard.  Selma loved her flowers and in every corner of the flower beds and in the house there were every shape, color and size, collected from friends and family.  Another chapter of life has been completed and Selma has left a lasting, loving imprint and we are grateful for the part she has played in each of our lives.

Donations are gratefully accepted to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation, 6910 47 St, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 3N3
