On November 11, 2019 Olga Schultz of Ponoka passed away at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her husband Fred.
Olga was born in Hindenburg, Russia. During the war the family fled Russia and Germany and boarded the ship Volendam, when mom was 12, to immigrate to South America. She lived in Paraguay and Uruguay, then at the age of 23, immigrated to Canada. After 3 years in Ontario she moved to Alberta where she settled with Fred and raised a family on a farm near Bashaw.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Karen (Norm) White, Rosemarie (Mike) Breunesse, Bonita (Daryl) Hahn, and Jessica (Tim) Tinis; grandchildren Vincent (Amanda), Iris, Sabrina, Emily, Alexandra, Danielle, Rebecca, Martin (Jocelyn), and Stacey (Jadon); siblings Anna, Margarete, Maria, and Brigite, and Helmut (Sieglinda); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents Johann and Olga Janzen and siblings Eugene, Ellie, and Walter.
Mom enjoyed many hobbies like knitting, crocheting, painting, and especially sewing. She loved gardening, shopping, reading, and spending time with her family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ponoka.
